About

This site was developed out of a love for old Macs & trying to keep them useful.

While OS 8-OS 9 era Macs can still do a lot of fairly modern computing (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, old games & apps, etc.) but those times you just want to do a little light 'web surfing' reality slaps you in the face of the limitations of your faithful old Mac.

Inspired by the Classilla Browser Project I had the idea of creating a web portal that points classic Macs at mobile sites.

These sites load much faster & require much less of your Mac to load them. Plus mobile sites fill screen nicely on older Macs requiring much less scrolling left to right. Eureka!

This site is a hobby & ongoing project so please bookmark it & for quick access.

If you'd like to help you can send your mobile site suggestions to: eric@retromacportal.com

I'd like to keep the site ad-free, so please consider a donation to help support the site. PayPal: ericrsa2004@yahoo.com

Thanks & happy computing!
